Lawrence Groves, St Faith’s popular Headmaster, is an extremely experienced Head, who already had three headships under his belt before he joined St Faith’s Prep in 2012. His overriding ethos is that children will thrive in a culture of reward and praise and have a good work ethic if they are happy and safe. A qualified ISI boarding, compliance and quality inspector, Lawrence is also an accomplished sportsman, having achieved county colours in rugby, badminton and cross country. He had many happy years as a PE teacher, and has always had aspirations to play rugby for the All Blacks and cricket for The West Indies. His pupils, however, are most impressed by his skills on the table tennis table, and he regularly gives them an opportunity to play him during lunch breaks for the chance to win a coveted Golden Ball.
