Global Citizens of the Modern World

As we begin the new term, Year 2 are preparing for our annual Harvest Service which we hold at St Nicholas Church in Ash. This year we are donating our tins and packets to the Deal Food Bank. More details of this worthy cause will follow nearer the time. During the Autumn Term classes around the school will be celebrating Diwali and learning about Sukkot, the birthday of Guru Nanak, Hannukah, and to finish Year 2 will lead the Christingle Service and the Upper School will hold the spiritual Carol Service at St Nicholas church.

Later this term, the school will also mark Remembrance Day with songs, poems and prayers. Learning about other people’s faiths and cultures certainly helps us to become global citizens of the modern world, and marking Remembrance Day is part of learning about our British culture. At school we are all learning to respect our differences so that we can all live in harmony in our loving environment at St Faith’s and beyond.
