Environmental Protection at St Faith’s

This year at St Faith’s, we are going to make every effort to reduce the amount of plastic waste that we create. During our first assembly, the children were asked to ensure that they bring reusable water bottles in to school, rather than single-use plastic bottles. To go in line with this, we will no longer be providing single-use bottles as part of the packed lunch that the children take with them on school trips. We hope that this will help to dramatically reduce the plastic waste we produce.

Next weekend, we will have our very first beach clean at Sandwich Bay and families and friends of the school are invited to join us there at 11am on Sunday 16 September. We plan to pick up litter and remove it from the area, ensure that we recycle any litter that we can. We hope that this positive impact will help to keep our seas clean and protect the huge array of wildlife that can be found down at the bay.

Eco Warriors have been elected this week and they are raring to get to work with taking care of our school environment and the wildlife that can be found within it. They will be helping out with our school nature garden, keeping the school litter free and encouraging other members of our school community to take care of our environment too.
