Twilight Concerts

This week’s two Twilight Concerts gave the chance for many of our musicians to show off their talents. Whether they were soloists, in the orchestra or part of Singing Club or Recorder Club, all children performed with great confidence and skill.

Many of our youngest soloists played music from Dogs and Birds, ably assisted by Amanda Gregory who gave up her time to help the children. In the second concert, more of the older children had their chance to shine. Alexandra and Isabella sang beautifully and there were some lovely piano, brass and woodwind solos as well. Not many schools can boast 3 French horn soloists in the same concert!

The orchestra performed ‘Mellow Out’, following Mr Ainsworth on the piano and ably led by Alexandra. Both Recorder Clubs and Singing Club also appeared, complete with waves to Mummy and Daddy in the audience!

The concerts were also the first ‘outing’ for our new Kawai keyboard, kindly purchased by the Friends. It is used during violin and piano lessons as well as concerts and examination days. Thank you to everyone who supports the Friends and enables them to help the children.

Also this week, we have had another ABRSM examination day before preparing for Christmas concerts after half term.
