Carroty Wood 2020: Day 3

Day 3

Firstly, an update from Day 2 – we have discovered that the muddy low ropes area has actually become a full swamp! Luckily, it didn’t deter any of the children, who all threw themselves (literally) head first into all of the activities! Black sacks at the ready team – muddy clothes are on their way!!

Today, a miracle occurred at Hornbeam house. The wake-up call music was ready but there was not a sound to be heard anywhere! Being the loving teachers that we are, we gave the children a 20-minute lie-in before the 80s classics began blaring and the bleary-eyed children emerged from their rooms, with much improved night’s sleep being reported all round. Following an incredible breakfast full of choices such as cereal, toast, beans, yoghurts, porridge and fruit, the children readied themselves for their first activities, which included high-ropes, climbing, team development tasks, bush-craft skills and BMX riding.

Day 3 of our amazing week has been a day full of discoveries! We have found out: that putting the effort in when building a shelter is essential when it comes to the staying dry during the rain testing at the end; that when we work together to complete a challenge, nothing is impossible; and that with the support and encouragement of our friends we can challenge ourselves and conqueror our fears.

You should be incredibly proud of your children and all that they are achieving this week!
