Building a strong foundation in Reception
Impressive concentration by our Reception pupils, who are working hard on their writing, growing in confidence and delighting themselves with their progress, week on week.
Reception marks the first year in Main School at St Faith’s. It’s an exciting, action-packed hub of learning, where curiosity is warmly encouraged. Strong foundations are built, with pupils developing their fine motor skills, phonics and maths as well as embracing creative skills and teamwork.

All pupils enjoy weekly music and modern language lessons with specialist teachers, as well as twice weekly PE sessions and the opportunity to add in after school clubs such as LAMDA, Musical Theatre, Movement & Dance and Tennis.
Reception provides children with a warm and friendly environment, where children feel safe and settled to play, learn and explore. We are passionate about each and every child in our care, valuing their interests and ensuring happiness is at the core of their development. Not only will our stimulating and challenging provision shape their future love of learning, but it will teach them lifelong language, communication and social skills.
Our most recent ISI report celebrates the outstanding provision in Reception, as purposeful and collaborative, with a strategically designed variety of engaging activities promoting children’s development. Inspectors praised all areas of learning and growth, enabling pupils to transition smoothly into Key Stage 1 and beyond.
