Outstanding independent school in East Kent

You may be asking yourself, ‘Which are the best private schools near me?, or ‘Are there any excellent independent schools near me?’. If that’s the case, then you will find the answers to those questions (and many more) here.

Welcome to St Faith’s Prep

Why choose an independent school?

Rated ‘Excellent’ in our recent Inspection, this is a school where children are inspired and challenged from their very first day with us, to think independently and creatively, to enjoy and participate fully in their learning, and to achieve amazing things.

With a broad and exciting curriculum, and supported and encouraged by excellent specialist teachers, our children steadily build knowledge and understanding, key skills and a robust work ethic year on year. When the time comes, they are able to take senior school entrance exams comfortably in their stride, without the pressures of intensive preparation.

Private schools (also called independent and sometimes, confusingly, public schools) may not be on your radar. There are certainly plenty of  parents within our group of schools who tell us that private education never crossed their minds until a chance conversation with a friend, concerns about their child’s progress or a last-minute decision to visit an Open Day led them to explore the idea, and ultimately decide that it was the right choice for them.

Success in the Kent Test

The Kent Test is something of a Holy Grail in our part of the country, and St Faith’s Prep has built a reputation for outstanding results in this as well as in the entrance exams for the excellent independent senior schools local to us.

Small class sizes are a given, but no more than you would expect at any good prep school. Consistently strong teaching and learning is harder to come by, and our girls and boys benefit from specialist teachers across the curriculum and throughout the school, with particular strength in the core subjects of English, Maths and Science.

A pro-active system of intervention if a child is struggling reaps huge benefits and has led to students moving from SEN to Gifted and Talented.

Next steps

Choosing a school for your child is an important decision. We want you to get to know our school and see for yourself that it is a place where your child will thrive and be happy.

As a first step, we strongly recommend you visit us to get a true feel for the character and ethos of the school. We hold three Open Days each year, but you are also welcome to make an appointment at another time to suit you, and we would encourage you to see the school on a normal working day.
