Harvest Assembly

This week the children of Year 2 have been very busy learning about the work of a Foodbank and how, in our local area, food is distributed to the needy. For instance, last year 663 three-day emergency food supplies were given out to local families as people struggled to feed families less fortunate than ourselves.

Year 2 produced a wonderful assembly this week which included acting out the story of ‘The Little Red Hen’, singing harvest songs with the school, playing their recorders, giving information of how Foodbanks work and encouraging us all to think about the needs of others before ourselves. The focus of the assembly was that it is good to share. Year 2 are very thankful to the members of the school community who supplied items for Deal Foodbank. It is encouraging to see how St Faith’s put charity at the heart of their thinking in times of need. Well done Year 2.
