Fantastic Assembly from Year 3

You like to move it move it? Well 3B most certainly like to move it move it and their lively assembly this week reflected this.

Having spent the spring term studying Forces and Motion in their Science lesson they were keen to share some of the interesting facts they had learnt.

These budding scientists of the future had thought carefully about all the different types of forces they could apply onto one big red sponge ball. They showed us an exciting film they had made to capture the wild and wonderful journey the ball had taken around St Faith’s as teachers and children alike kicked, flicked, rolled, punched, poked and threw it around the school.

Afterwards, they explained how opposite poles on a magnet attract to each other and pondered the question ‘Do opposites attract when we choose our friends?’ Mr and Mrs Groves kindly helped us test this theory with a fun game of Mr and Mrs. However, it turns out they are so perfectly matched it only served to prove the old adage that ‘birds of a feather flock together’…sweet!

They ended their assembly with a class song all about ‘A Push and a Pull’, thanks goes to Mr Ainsworth for finding such an appropriate song that we all had in our heads for the rest of the day.
