More from Carroty Wood

Day 4: Welcome back for more from the Carroty Chronicle

I am currently sat in the beautiful Kent countryside watching our incredible adventurers enjoy a bit of free time. We’ve got games of football and basketball, frisbee and children enjoying spending time outside in this beautiful site. We are very lucky to be in a place as stunning and peaceful (well it was until we arrived!) as Carroty Wood.

Yesterday was another jam-packed day with the children completing three different activities. We had: children back on the climbing wall, pushing themselves past their comfort levels and achieving new personal bests or even climbing up blindfolded; the future Lewis Hamiltons and Michèle Moutons practising their skills as their raced around the race track or the skills circuit during pedal carting; getting to explore the full site whilst following GPS coordinates during Geocaching; and working as a team to complete a series of team development tasks. As we have come to expect, the children all excelled themselves and we have some very proud children coming home having achieved exceptional things this week!

It is at this point, I am afraid to say, that our evening descended into chaos. The ‘peace and tranquility’ of our delicious dinner of sausages and mash was shattered with the arrival of the one and only Mr Andrews. The children were thrilled to see his smiling face, even if only to throw balls at it during the evening swim. Having whipped the children up into an excited frenzy, Mr Andrews then made his departure just in time for getting the children into bed. Fortunately, after another busy day, the children were all ready for a good night’s sleep and settled quickly.

This morning saw a slightly more rock-based alarm clock rousing the children from their slumbers ready for another 5-course breakfast. Today, we have our final rounds of activities and our last swimming session.

The children have all had an amazing time and are looking forward to packing their bags tonight (this will be an easier task for some!), cleaning the house and getting back to school tomorrow afternoon. We shall see you all at 4.00pm!
