U11 Mixed Kwik Cricket vs Cartwright and Kelsey

Taking advantage of the sunny weather whilst it lasts, St Faith’s hosted Cartwright and Kelsey Primary School for a mixed Kwik Cricket match. Captain Matthew won the toss and decided to field first. All the children bowled really well and most with an overarm bowling technique. They restricted Cartwright and Kelsey to 235 runs from their overs and took 6 wickets.  In reply Oliver and Henrietta got the innings off to a flying start with the bat. After their 3 overs batting the score was already on 230. The innings went from strength to strength with everyone hitting the ball well to all parts of the ground. Freddie Mc hit 3 sixes and Matthew G hit 2 as St Faith’s ended their innings on an impressive score of 297 runs. Player of the match went to Henrietta for her excellent bowling and showing her brother how it is done when batting! Well played everyone!

U11AB Netball vs Cartwright and Kelsey

The Netball season has passed, however, St Faith’s had an opportunity to wonder across the village to play in a couple of friendly Netball matches. With a big crowd watching the girls kept their nerve and performed well. The 1st Team won 6-3 and the Development Team won 5-2.  Players of the match went to Poppy B and Danielle A. Well played girls!

U9AB Boys’ Kwik Cricket vs Spring Grove

Today the U9 Boys had their first match of the season as they hosted Spring Grove. The 1st Team bowled first and on the whole bowled well. They took some good catches and restricted Spring Grove to a total of 234 runs. In reply the boys did some big hitting but were held back after a couple of run-outs. However, they still managed to win by scoring 245 runs. The Development Team had a close match but was decided on wickets.  St Faith’s seemed to be the better team and scored the most runs. Unfortunately, they lost more wickets and eventually lost by 6 runs.  Players of the match went to Eliot T and Oliver S. Well played boys!

Next week The U11 Girls and Boys are involved in Kwik Cricket matches and the U9 Boys get to play again when they host St Lawrence College.
