STEAM projects are on their way home

The final products from the Year 6 STEAM project are on their way home! The children showed great creativity, precision and resilience in designing in CAD (Computer Aided Design) and printing useful 3D objects that have more than one interlocking part. The engineering aspect of making the two parts fit together, i.e. not exactly the same size, was challenging and required a lot of fine measurement. The project was great fun and full of additional learning opportunities (aka disasters) and the children were proud of their results. The amazing designs included many creative ideas for containers with lids, pencil holders, some really good hinged boxes and a fabulous Hawker Hurricane. Children said, “I found it difficult at first, but now I can make all the shapes I want and printing it is brilliant!” “I am really pleased with my Hurricane”
