French in Nursery and Reception

Both Nursery and Reception children are loving their lively language sessions, merrily repeating and singing simple rhymes and chanting numbers 1 to 10. We sang “Bon Anniversaire” to Elizabeth, counting to her new age “ Un,deux, trois, QUATRE…! She boldly declared however, “ I am not a CAT!” A lovely moment, showing how learning French is different but fun.

Reception pupils have made 2 puppets each: Leo and Lulu. Using them energetically to sing songs and mime actions whilst practising their names, what they like doing and playing “ Cache Cache” around the classroom. France is rather an abstract idea to some, but many children talk of their holidays there and it is always good to tell them about what is just across the water!
