U7 Mixed TAG Rugby Festival at Ash Rugby Club

What a fun afternoon 6 children from Year 2 had at Ash Rugby Club. The afternoon started with some coaching and fun Rugby related games in preparation for the proper Tag Rugby matches at the end of the day. The children really enjoyed each game and were eager to play in the proper matches. With Captain Max R organising his defensive line, the children were excellent at tagging the other team. They also scored some great tries with all the children getting plenty of opportunity to learn how to play the game.  It was a great result as they won 3 and only lost 1 game.  They were all very pleased to receive their medal and certificate at the end of the festival. Well done everyone!

U11 Boys Tournament at Spring Grove

The time had come for the U11 boys to play in their first Football Tournament of the year. With some big schools in attendance it was a good test for the boys. They started the group stage by beating Kings Rochester 2-0. They followed this with draws against Wellesley House, Junior Kings and Spring Grove to qualify for the quarter final stage.  The later draw was against Dover College which was a very tight match that could have gone either way. However, this time the boys lost 2-1 to exit the tournament. However, they had gained the confidence required to compete against some of the biggest schools in the area. Well played boys!

Next week the boys have more Football tournaments as the U11 and U9 teams are entered into the Ashford competition. The boys also have the qualifying stage of the McCarthy Cup at Aylesham Primary School to look forward to. Whilst the girls are looking to win back the McCarthy Cup trophy as St Faith’s host the tournament on Friday. Good luck to all!
