Year 3 pupils have learnt about Judaism, Islam and Christianity this academic year and considered the similarities and differences between these faiths during their studies.
To help the children to understand the importance of Easter to Christians, we walked to our local church of St Nicholas and visited the Stations of the Cross there. Members of the church community welcomed us and guided the children through the story of Easter, explaining the significance of each of the stations.
At the end of our visit, we took a few minutes to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the church, closed our eyes and did some mindful breathing. A lovely, spiritual moment that everyone could enjoy.
