U11 Swimming Team @ Dover School Games Swimming Gala

9 keen swimmers from Years 5 and 6 travelled to Dover Leisure Centre to compete in the Dover School Games Swimming Gala. There were clearly some nerves from those who were not used to swimming competitively but they all did fantastically well on the morning. They qualified for the finals in every individual event and also the freestyle relay. Darcey came 5th in the 25m Backstroke, Jude then came 2nd in the same event for the boys. In the breaststroke races, Zara came 3rd and Nick won. Then Genevieve came 4th in the 50m freestyle before Jack finished the individual events by winning the boys event. Finally, the Freestyle team worked in harmony as they raced away to win the final event of the afternoon, the freestyle relay. Well done to all involved!

U11 Girls Football v Cartwright and Kelsey – Away

It was the quarter final of the Stabb’s Cup (formerly the Hammond Cup) and the girls had a match against their local rivals, Cartwright and Kelsey. The match was tight and evenly contested with goals at both ends. St Faith’s managed to take the lead and then our girls managed to hold on despite pressure from Cartwright and Kelsey to win 2-3. Both teams put their heart and soul into this fixture. They now have a semi-final match against Whitecliffs Primary to look forward to. Player of the match for fantastic effort went to Jeea H. Well played girls!

Tuesday 10 March

U9ABC Netball v Kent College – Home

For once it was not raining and the girls managed to play their Netball matches as they hosted Kent College. The A team found it tough with a few members of their team missing through illness but they kept going to the end with an unfortunate score of 2-7. The B team had a really close contest with only one goal in the whole contest, by Arabella P, securing a win of 1-0. The C team had a goal fest! The girls took an early lead but Kent College were quick to respond. Kent College were in-front for most of the contest but the attitude and effort from every member of the team was fantastic. They eventually lost 4-6 but can be proud of their efforts. Players of the match went to Willa B, Anna W and Penny F. Well played Girls!

Thursday 12 March

U9AB Boys Hockey v St Lawrence College

The U9 boys travelled to St Lawrence College for a round of Hockey matches. They were all absolutely amazing! The A team went behind early in the match but grew into the contest and were having the better chances as they approached half-time. St Lawrence then scored in the second half but St Faith’s did not give up. They got their reward with a late goal to make the final score 2-1. The B team were also fantastic with every member trying their best for the team. St Faith’s were winning 3-1 at half-time and continued to work hard in the second half. They eventually won 5-1. Player of the match went to Angus S and Sami Ur-R. Well played boys!

Next week the Netball continues with the U11 and U9 teams hosting Spring Grove for their final Netball matches of this term. The girls also have their final league football match of the year as they play against Wingham Primary. Good luck to all.
