It was a beautifully sunny day when the Choir and Singing Club recently performed at the Sandwich Folk and Ale Festival. There was a huge range of ages from the youngest in Year R to the ‘giant oaks’ of Year 6! It was the third time that we have been invited and there was a lovely atmosphere in the grounds of St Peter’s Church. The children sang several folk songs to an appreciative audience, culminating in a rendition of Skye Boat Song from both groups. Thank you to all the children who took part and to everyone who came along to listen. We have already been invited back next year!
Three children played during this week’s assembly. Krish and Rose gave their final performances on horn and flute and later, Zara played Happy Birthday. This week’s school song was ‘We are the Champions’ – our children most certainly are! Finally, our wonderful Year 6 children gave three performances of ‘Ali Baba and the Bongo Bandits’ this week. There were corny jokes a-plenty but also some wonderful singing from an amazing group of children. They will be greatly missed next year and the children further down the school have big shoes to fill!
