Dragons’ Den St Faith’s style

Early this week, the Dragons were released from captivity for their annual appearance in front of the intrepid Year 6 entrepreneurs, who stood and boldly pitched their business proposals. Aiming to be one of only two groups to receive a £50 stake of the dragon’s gold, the Year 6s presented their plans, which have been created in the Enterprise study skills sessions on a Thursday morning. With the teams forming back in September, the children have been challenged to apply all of their Maths and Computing knowledge to: conduct market research using Microsoft forms; research the price of the items they would need for their business and weigh up proposed outgoings with potential profit; understand and calculate gross and net profit; and create a presentation and script to deliver to the dragons!

All teams should be very proud of the confidence they displayed as they stood up, delivered their presentations and faced the first interrogation of the dragons. This year’s selected teams are Tie-Dye socks, who will offer sustainable and eco-friendly socks in a bold and exciting range of handmade patterns, and Dodge-a-ball, who will be running a school wide Dodge-a-ball tournament whilst offering a range of delicious and environmentally friendly refreshments.

A huge congratulations to all the teams that took part and our huge thanks to our Dragons for their continued investment in these fantastic, real-world enterprise challenge.
