A New Head for St Faith’s Prep

After over a decade as Headmaster of St Faiths Prep, Lawrence Groves leaves us this summer as he takes up a very well-deserved retirement and we welcome in Helen Coombs as our new Head.

A St Faithian through and through, Lawrence’s time at St Faith’s is marked by our Double Excellent inspection rating, as well as our outstanding results and of course our happy, high-achieving children. The golf courses and tennis courts of Kent will no doubt be seeing a lot more of him, and our loss can only be their gain!

Although sad to see Lawrence go, we are delighted that a familiar and much-loved member of our school community will be taking up the role of Headship. Helen Coombs has been at St Faith’s for over 20 years, and has spent the last ten as Deputy Head, working alongside Lawrence to bring their shared vision for the school to fruition, to develop an engaging and inspiration curriculum and to offer every child the opportunity to achieve and succeed.

Helen is a firm believer in the village school feel and family ethos of St Faith’s Prep, and is committed to ensuring that the magic of the school remains and flourishes under her tenure.

Taking up Helen’s previous role as Deputy Head (Academic) is David Mackenzie, who joins Duncan Andrews, Deputy Head (Pastoral) in supporting and assisting Helen in developing and delivering her plans for the school.
