Coming into school on Monday morning this week, meant great excitement for our Nursery children. It was after all their eagerly awaited Christmas Adventure day. Dressed and ready for all weather conditions, they set off to the Nature Garden to meet with our Forest school Teacher, Mrs Smith.
Gloomy weather could not dampen their spirits as they experienced a Christmas themed fun-filled few hours. They warmed up by hunting for the hidden Christmas cards, merrily followed by making log Rudolf Reindeers underneath the new Gazebo. It was a joyful and fitting end to their day as they all got to sit around the fire waiting for their toasted marshmallows.
Outside learning has so many valuable qualities for the children to gain independence. They learn through trial and error and with the support from the adults are encouraged to explore their surroundings and be creative using natural resources.
