Le Château de Warsy – Day 2
Le Château de Warsy – Day 2
The sun was out for our first morning of activity and the children were raring to go! Mountain biking, canoeing, low ropes and the obstacle course were all tackled with courage, tenacity, enthusiasm and joy…except for Madame Stokes, who not only tipped her canoe over but pulled Mr Groves in too. To say she panicked would be an understatement but after five years of escaping a soaking it was about time! Then after all this we retired for a lunch of jacket potatoes to hear once again from Madame Stokes of her misfortune.
The warm weather continued through the afternoon and into the evening for the team games on the lawn before bed. Connor and Faustino had established themselves as the crack shots of their group on the rifle range in the afternoon whilst just about everybody lost themselves somewhere on the blind trail. Madame Stokes finally recovered from the trauma of her lake ducking with the biggest plate of boeuf bourguignon you have ever seen for supper and everyone else feverishly tucked into their delicious chocolate eclairs. So many happy sun tanned faces, so much laughter and enthusiasm, but now a much deserved sleep for all!
