A Record-Breaking Breakfast

Mr Mackenzie’s Blog:

Good morning from a slightly drizzly Carroty Wood. There were some very bleary eyes this morning (mostly from the staff!) but everyone was in high spirits and keen to start our final full day of activities.

Last night, the children were delighted to be back in the pool. With Mrs Allen joining us to act as ‘spotter’, Mr Burrett and I were back in the pool, splitting the shift between us to try and aid our survival. I’m afraid to report that Mr Burrett is going to have to resit Year 5 Maths, as his definition of ‘half’ was suspiciously inaccurate!

This morning, we witnessed a new record – eight Weetabix consumed by one child, and almost four loaves of bread devoured by the rest of the team! I am very relieved that it is not my usual responsibility to feed this insatiable mob every morning!

With the sun attempting to burn off the early morning drizzle, so far the children have enjoyed some free time outside, playing football and netball, climbing trees and generally having fun. They are currently having a quick biscuit before heading off to their final activity. This afternoon, we will all be back together to attack the high ropes! Check back in to hear if anyone has been able to conquer the fearsome Leap of Faith!
